So, we were hearing this sound – like a bird trapped under a window shade. But it was coming form the ceiling in the entryway of the Science Center. We looked up and – holy cow! – we saw the biggest dragonfly we had ever seen. We started with Green Darner, moved to Dragonhunter, and finally realized, after we netted it and got it to pose in the sunlight, we had a female Green-lined Darner.
Our naturalist got to keep her finger, but we haven’t seen her ring since.
